Buttermilk Pancakes

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 stick margarine or butter
  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Small handful of Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking power
  • Some Flour

Directions:

  1. Melt margarine or butter in skillet and let cool. 
  2. Pour buttermilk into a bowl or pot. 
  3. Add egg, sugar and salt. 
  4. Then add baking powder and watch it foam (stand back!). 
  5. Pour in cooled melted butter. 
  6. Add flour until you get the right consistency, stir until just combined. 
  7. Spoon onto hot griddle, flip when bubbles form on top. 
  8. Serve with real maple syrup (Rob's preference), strawberry jam, or cheap maple syrup.
